Designer Marie Morris established the label with her husband David Morris after they became parents and recognised there was a gap in the market for high quality, affordable children’s clothing. David is a well established cartoonist and caricature artist and he created the cheeky character called "Goo Goo" to inject some fun into the brand. Combined with Marie’s dressmaking skills and creative flair, Goo Goo Gear was established in 2001. At that stage the range consisted of beautifully tailored everyday clothing – everything from colourful t-shirts and trousers to lace-lined floral print girl’s dresses. Customers soon began asking Marie for advice on where to find special occasion wear and so she began creating the timeless pieces that are now the main-stay of the brand. As a mother, Marie intuitively understands the importance of special occasions in a family’s life and so works with you to ensure the garments you order are correctly sized and best suited to your child.
